The thoughtful expression that came to Collin's features at her question made Carly's smile grow all the more. Whatever had caused him to do such spontaneous acts, the vampiress certainly wasn't complaining. Usually Collin was the calmer of both of them and thus Carly was rather...surprised to say the least when he had all but gone to war with a squirrel of all things. The night had certainly turned out to be a night of surprises to be sure and for once Carly didn't mind. Still, who said that they had to know everything about each other by now. True, Carly would have liked to claim such a thing after knowing him for eight years but even now she was still finding new things here and there that surprised her.
For Carly though, it only brought her that much closer to him-her fiance-the one whom she had just promised to spend all of eternity with. After all this time, the vampiress had begun to wonder if Collin would ever ask...but he had, and she'd said yes. Really, what other answer could she give? Sure she could have said no, denied him the privilege of calling her his wife...but that was the last thing on Carly's mind. After all they'd been through, she really couldn't think of any other answer to that question. Of course she would say yes, in fact, she had waited for this day longer than she cared to admit. Part of that was due to the fact that Carly knew she still had the tendency to think in human terms. Of course she hadn't been a vampiress for all that long, almost a decade by now true but twenty-one years of thinking like a human was rather hard to break.
As she stepped forwards and into Collin's embrace, Carly somehow found it easier to forget about time. They would spend eternity together after all...there was really no reason to rush, and in that moment she was more than content to just remain in his arms. After commenting about his spontaneous behavior, Carly kissed her fiance, enjoying the brief surprised expression that she had seen before he'd kissed her back. Looking up into his dual colored eyes, Carly couldn't help but smile all the more as he once again called her by the name she would soon claim. Mrs. Walker...how sweet the simple words sounded coming from his lips...Carly could hardly wait for the day when his name would be given to her for real but that would be some days away yet. As impatient as Carly was, she wanted to get the planning done and out of the way as quickly as possible...she'd waited long enough already after all.
When Collin released her and stepped back, Carly smiled in turn up at him before laughing softly as he held up her swim suit. It was a reminder of a time long since past and also of tonight, of how it had sat unused while they had enjoyed a midnight swim. Taking the swimsuit from him, Carly picked up the bear that had sat in its box, waiting for their return and held it close. After a moment, Carly shifted the bear to one arm and took Collin's hand, threading her fingers through his as she smiled up at him. "Shall we go, Mr. Walker?"Carly asked quietly, grinning all the more as she spoke.

As everything was taken care of in one form or another and the question was asked, Collin smirked. That was easily enough determined wasn’t it? The night was still young, but the adventure was over for now, he thought to himself at least. Collin could only imagine the mass amount of planning that Carly was about to engage in in order to ensure her wedding was nothing short of spectacular. When the marriage would be almost seemed as important as the setup, though Collin wasn’t quite sure why. He supposed it was just a new age woman thing, or something of that nature. It was a day that he would have to commit to memory, though, for he was more than a little sentimental, and he’d keep an eye on the day as it drew close every year thereafter.
“Let’s head home,” he replied easily stepping down into the gondola and extending a hand to help her into it. Though the water swayed under his feet, the vampire had enough balance to where it didn’t threaten to drop him. Thereafter, Collin shifted to the tail of it easily taking up the pole once more and pressing through the water with an easy stroking motion. Though it would be a bit harder to go up river than down it as he had before, Collin wasn’t a human, and his strength was much higher than any human’s. Such a small change in pressure was nothing compared to what he could do when it was all said and done. Throwing a car was easy enough to give a simple analogy- not that Collin really enjoyed the thought of flipping cars unless they happened to irritate him somehow. Though he preferred carriages, cars weren’t that bad, he supposed. They had their niceties with speed and strength even if the carriage would always feel more noble to him.
Heterochromatic eyes dropped down to Carly as a small smile curled upon Collin’s lips again. Bathed in the last light and moonlight, she was beautiful, and though he knew that she disliked being outside in the darkness, he was also aware that she could tolerate it when she was with him. Maybe he was the only one to see her in such a way, heh. Though his pride would have been fulfilled by thinking that way, the rational part of Collin wasn’t sure of that. In the end, it didn’t matter anyways. She was his now and forever. That was what mattered to one Collin Walker.
It was time to go home, to their home, after the excitement that he had managed to work up not only in her but in himself. There was still much more to do now than there was when he had started- at least for Carly, anyways. Collin could rest easy that night knowing that she’d said yes- not that he had really thought she would ever say no, but to hear those words was enough for Collin. It was time to get home with a victory made.
