In the Atlantic Ocean, there is an island named Prayer Island that has been screened off by the rest of the world by the United Nations. Starting from the ocean to the center, the land quickly elevates to a large plateau that is surrounded by tall, white marble wall. This is the home of the world's insane. Or are they really insane?

Almost everyone that is sent to Lament Cassidy Asylum are actually of the supernatural. Vampires, wereanimals, faeries, nymphs, wraiths, and otherworld readers are sent here, fearing what they stand for. This "asylum" is one of the few around the world that hold these special species. But only Lament accepts people that have been named Fair-Eyed, for they can see through the glamour that all other kinds of species have for natural protection.

The staff are completely made up of either mystical creatures or Fair-Eyed humans who have learned to control their minds around those that are different. But something wrong is happening between the team of doctors and the Fair-Eyes, but everyone is keeping quiet, fearing the wrath of Dr. Nickolas Blade, the leader of the team.

In the town below, the Fair-Eyes are becoming restless with the strict rule of the supernaturals, and are quietly rebelling against the rule with small skirmishes between them. Things are getting quite violently, and if somebody doesn't put an end to it, there is going to be a civil war of sorts.

The reason for these places to help the Fair-Eyes is that there is a prophet among the otherworld readers that has found the images of the end of the world, and has gone into hiding. This is the pure reason for the United Nations to want to find them to try to ward off the apocalypse.

Among the wereanimals, vampires, faeries, nymphs, wraiths, otherworld readers, and fair-eyes...
