:: Julian Wick Oakwood :: Basics! :: AGE: 24 :: BIRTHDAY: January 13 :: GENDER: Female :: SEXUALITY: Pansexual, but tends fall for women the most :: FACE CLAIM: Mia Wasikowska :: MEMBER GROUP: Prottetore :: LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English, French, and basic Russian Personality! :: LIKES:
- Weapons- Without any form of a weapon on her person, Wick tends to feel vulnerable and exposed. While she is efficient in hand-to-hand combat, her prowess in fighting lies in making use of firearms, blunt objects, and small knives.
- Enclosed, Open Spaces- In a crowded, large, or crowded area, it's difficult to pinpoint any possible threats and dangers. It's also possible for new threats and dangers to move into the area. However, when you're in an open, yet enclosed and slightly smaller space, it's much easier to identify any hazardous variables.
- Animals- Wick finds understanding animals much easier than understanding humans. Not to mention, most animals aren't out to get you, nor do they have some hidden agenda. A lot of them also have keen people senses, and seem to know when something bad is coming. At least, that's how Wick sees it.
- High Ground- It's a lot easier to spy something when you're above it. It's also easier to find a target and keep tabs on them when they can't see you.
- Silence- Noise is distracting, and although Wick has developed a means of filtering excess sound out, she still doesn't like it. She finds it very difficult to concentrate in louder areas, like the heart of a city or at a concert. Silence allows her to sort through her thoughts, develop plans, and listen for any unusual and possibly important sounds that could be related to whatever she's doing.
- Outer Space- While it may be unnerving to some, Wick likes the notion that there are thousands of other worlds out there, just waiting to be discovered. She's actually very interested in astronomy and the related sciences, and had she not become a Protettore, she would have most likely chosen a career path that lead to the stars. Much of her belongings are decorated to reflect her love of the world beyond Earth.
- Organization- It's much easier to find things and do a job right if there's some sort of plan or structure to it, and Wick often ends up feeling lost and bewildered without any sort of organization. This applies to almost everything in her life, from work to her property. Everything she owns is organized; files are in alphabetical and chronological order, clothes are sorted according to things like colour, brand-name, sleeve/leg length, and so on. She's a very systematical person, and does everything the same all the time.
- Pasta- If there is one kind of food in this world that Wick cannot get enough of, it's pasta. She would eat any kind of pasta all day everyday if she could.
- Water- Nothing like a glass of cool, sweet water after a hard day's work.
- Traveling- Or more specifically, backpacking across continents. Seeing the sights of the world, sleeping under the stars, and living off of the land; what's not to love? Not to mention, it's hard to find a person who doesn't have a set location.
:: DISLIKES:- The Hunters- There are so many reasons that Wick hates the hunters, that we'd be here all day if she were to list them all. One of the main reasons though, is the way they kill off innocent beings just because of what they are; it tends to remind Wick of how she was treated by her peers, although on a much larger and more disturbing scale.
- People- Wick isn't a people person. She doesn't trust people, nor does she understand them, and she would much rather work alone than cooperate with others. She tends to believe that almost the entire world has it out for her.
- Noise- Noise is distracting, and it actually tends to overwhelm Wick, who is so used to isolation. She has a difficult time concentrating when in a loud area, or when there's noise in general--music included--and if the volume is great enough, she will actually start to panic and have a bit of a meltdown due to sensory overload.
- Physical Contact- Again, her paranoia tends to take over when people start touching her. Wick decided from an early age that any attempts at physical contact were attempts to harm her, and while she has gotten past the stage where she beats the crap out of those who dare to touch her, she still does become noticeably tense and aggressive.

:: HABITS: :: STRENGTHS: :: WEAKNESSES:
:: OVERALL PERSONALITY: As you may have already gathered, Wick is rather paranoid--especially when it comes to her safety (and the safety of those close to her).History! :: MOTHER: Jane Julian Oakwood-Marie :: FATHER: Oscar Markus Oakwood :: SIBLINGS: Fred Oscar Oakwood (oldest brother; 30 years old), Dale James Oakwood (younger older brother; 27 years old), Hailey Lillian Oakwood (sister-in-law, 31 years old, married to Fred) :: SPOUSE: N/A :: CHILDREN: N/A :: PETS: Roy- A white, six year old male Canaan dog with a heart of gold. Roy is an incredibly laid back and loving dog, and he's very quick to accept strangers. He's also quite obedient, and rarely barks, if ever; the perfect canine companion in some people's eyes. Wick rescued him off the streets when he was just a puppy, and the two have been together ever since.
:: HISTORY: Wick was the third and final child to be born into the low-income Oakwood family, who, at the time, owned a farm just outside of Sudbury (Ontario, Canada). Despite the tighter financial situation the five were in, they still managed to make the best of things. Wick never really realized that she was apart of the "lower class", and thought that everyone lived like she did; it wasn't until school came around that her blissful ignorance was shattered. Teased and taunted mercilessly by her classmates for her social status, worn and patched clothes, and her lack of material wealth, young Wick was completely alienated by her middle and upper class peers. This kind of behavior continued all throughout elementary and middle school, and with each year, Wick withdrew from society more and more, and developed a more paranoid demeanor. The bullying ceased during her first year of high school, but the damage was already done; she remained anti-social, cold, and incredibly cautious when it came to dealing with people. She believed that everyone--her peers, older students, teachers, etc.--were out to get her. In her second year of high school, though, things started to get even worse. Convinced that her well-being was endangered, Wick began to bring things to defend herself with to school. It started out as small (albeit deadly) things, like rocks that were easily concealable, but escalated to objects such as steak knives, and continued onwards. Never once did she actually utilize these weapons, although that really wasn't the concern; near the end of the year she was caught, and it was determined that she was the threat, not other students. Wick was suspended from the school, and sent to an institution for troubled teenagers.
The rest of Wick's family weren't able to help much in anyway during these troubling times; Wick had long since cut herself off from them all. She had never been on excellent terms with her mother (who constantly complained about wanting a "real" daughter), and while her father had been kind, he was "too soft" and shared just about everything with his wife. Wick's oldest brother was never really around, and the other one gave up after many failed attempts.
After spending a little over three months at the institution, Wick packed up and ran. She was found a week later and brought back, although that didn't deter her. Within the following months, she attempted running away several more times before finally succeeding shortly after her seventeenth birthday. By this time, she had a better understanding of how the cops conducted their searches, and was able to stay under the radar for an entire year. It was this year that brought about a change in Wick's life. During her time on the streets, she saw a lot of strange things. Quiet street urchins that blend in with the filthy street aren't always noticed by even those working hardest to preserve their secrets, and so it was that Wick stumbled upon the supernatural world... By accident, of course. What she saw--which can only be classified as vampires, werewolves, Hunters and Protettores--scared her, but fascinated her all the same. Unfortunately for her, before she could look deeper into this strange new world, Wick was finally caught by the police; not that it helped them much. After she turned eighteen years of age, Wick high tailed it out of the area, and pursued the mysteries she had borne witness to on the streets. A great deal of painstaking research and observations later, she managed to track down some of the Protettores. After getting a feel for what the organization was for, she decided to join; as paranoid as Wick may have been, she was supportive enough of helping the supernatural species out of the rut they were seemingly stuck in. Besides, judging by what she had heard, the young woman decided that the Hunters posed the largest threat, especially when compared to the peace seeking Protettores; destroying the Hunters would effectively drop the threats to her safety. It was also around this time that Wick found Roy, a Canaan dog, wandering around on the streets, and took him in.
While Wick excelled in the combat, tracking, and observational parts of training, she could not for the life of her get things like teamwork and basic communications. It was these kinds of skills that hindered her most and kept her back from becoming a fully fledged Protettore. However, after three years, it was determined that her level of ability in those areas was passable, and thus she "graduated" from the status of trainee.
For most of her first year, Wick remained in North America. However, when the second year rolled around, she decided to go backpacking across Europe with no one but her loyal dog Roy to keep her company. Another year has passed since then, and the twenty four year old is still wandering around the continent, protecting supernaturals and taking down Hunters. :: ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE: "Must have been unpleasant, crossing the sea in less-than-desirable weather." Donovan commented. He could easily identify with being stuck on a ship, large or small, when the sun wasn't shining, or at least warming the earth. It was not the best of feelings... Well, for most, anyway, him included this time. He was a little surprised to hear that his new-found companion was also fairly new here, only arriving a week or so before himself. It certainly didn't seem like it, as he acted much more comfortable in what could be deemed a 'new environment' than most people Donny had met. Inwardly, he wondered if the auburn haired man was accustomed to changes, or if he just adjusted quickly... Or perhaps he lived in a similar place before... Or maybe it was just the atmosphere of the town.
Or maybe he was just over thinking it.
He switched his attention back over to the man across the table just in time to listen to what he had to say next. With a slight smile, he took note of the use of his full name as opposed to one of the many nicknames people had bestowed upon him, simply because the name 'Donovan' was too long for them to be bothered to pronounce. The fisherman found the formality rather amusing, to say the least. However, it was quickly explained when the man -who had introduced himself as Lyle Richards- revealed that he was the island's doctor. Now it made a bit more sense.
"Oh, a doctor, eh?" He echoed, grinning once more. "I gotta lot of respect for you medical practitioners; can't be much of an easy job." Donny commented, his tone dropping to something that was ever so slightly more serious, before proceeding to laugh at Lyle's next comment, and the grin came back once more. "Not nervous in the slightest." He assured the doctor. "After spending a good chunk of the year in the hospital, there ain't many things in the medical field that can make me nervous, people or not." He added, referring to the time he had spent recovering and in rehabilitation due to his left leg (or lack thereof). Unlike a lot of people, he had no problems discussing his history, whether it be educational, career-wise, medical and so on, with other people. Of course, the fact that Lyle was the island doctor certainly helped.
"Glad to hear you're doing well, Doc." He said, switching topics. "Life's going pretty well for me too, all things considered." Donovan replied. "Yeah, I am new; just got here today, actually. 'Botu an hour ago, give or take a few minutes." He added. "I didn't have much to unpack, so I left 'till later in favor of coming out and meeting people and getting to know the town in general. It certainly is a grand place, just like my old man said." Donovan went quiet for a moment, seemingly preoccupied with thoughts that had pushed themselves to the front of his mind. However, they were quickly shaken away and forced back into the darker corners of his consciousness, where he hoped they'd stay for the time being.
"Say... You wouldn't happen to know if there's a pet store or the likes nearby?" Donny asked, seemingly out of the blue. He didn't elaborate any further as to why he wanted to know the location of such a store, mainly because the reason was heavily implied; he just wanted a pet. Of course, he wasn't about to state the exact motivations for it; despite being carefree and so open, there were some things that the fisherman was heavily reluctant to share. Specifically the phobias that ailed him. As such, he just kept quiet, eager to hear Lyle's reply.
