It was weird how normal Kiana felt. She felt as if she were human, no sign of the wolf part of her apart from the slight increased senses which she was so used to she didn't really know what human senses were even like. She hated this. She liked having the ability to shift at her finger tips, she liked feeling different and special and feeling like the werewolf she was. This feeling of normality that sometimes came with the new moon was never something she looked forward to. There was also the knowledge that she had brought this feeling on herself by moving into the human world, leaving her old pack. When you're surrounded by lycans that are only ever around their kind, you never feel human, not even close. Her old pack, even if they were a bit crazy with the "no human contact" rule, really made you feel like you were a lycan, even when the lack of moon pulled the wolf away. Now that she was living around humans, only hanging around her new pack near a full moon, it was so easy to let the wolf be dragged away with the moon and feel as human as those around her.
Speaking of those around her, they were so boring. She walked along the pathway on the main road of the town. People passed her walking in and out of different businesses, cars drove to and from the industrial district outside of town, everyone she saw was wearing the same expression of either boredom or stress. She didn't know how people lived like this. Where was the fun? Why weren't people smiling? It was a nice day, warm compared to normal English weather and not a cloud in sight. She didn't understand it. The only places she was seeing smiles were inside some of the businesses, in the cafes especially there seemed to be the most positive air. She decided that's where she would go. She was out with the goal of getting something to eat so she could kill two birds with one stone by making her stomach happy and enjoying the positiveness of a cafe at the same time.
She decided to go into a cafe with as many tables outside as in. It was nothing special, a plain outer and a simple interior but it was more than half full of people sitting down for coffee or a light lunch. She went up to the counter, smiling politely at the woman serving her as she ordered a large mocha and payed. She took the table number and went back outside to pick a table where she could take advantage of the warm midday sun. Most of the tables inside had been taken anyway, apparently people preferred to stay out of the rarely seen sun. As she set down her table number on a table that would let her enjoy the sun but avoid glare a scent caught her attention. Her back straightened and she scanned the area surrounding her. The scent was dull, as if it had been caught on clothes or skin. It had to be close though, a fresh scent that dull would be to far away for Kiana to catch, it'd get mixed up with car fumes and human stink.
She picked up who was carrying the scent quickly, pin pointing it to a blonde woman sitting at one of the cafe's tables. The woman was human though. She got closer, casually moving her table number over to a table near the woman. Yeah, she was human but she was carrying the scent Kiana had caught, the scent of a werewolf. Multiple actually. Kiana's eyebrows knit together and her hand hovered near her table number. She was curious. Why did this woman smell like she'd been hanging around multiple lycans? With only a few seconds of thought about it and a look down at the sketchpad the woman was drawing in, Kiana decided to go and sit with the woman. She was curious and the woman looked nice so why not talk to her and see if she could find out why she carried the faint scents?
Kian slid down into the seat opposite the woman and put her table number down in front of her. She smiled at the woman who she wasn't sure had noticed Kiana yet. "Hi, mind me sitting here? What are you drawing?"

It was a beautiful morning and Celestine decided to take advantage of the rare view of the sun to get some work done. She had a few art commissions that she was behind on but thankfully they were understanding and had extended the deadline. With a little girl to take care of on top of running her studio, it was a wonder she had time to do any commissions at all. Ah well, it wasn't like Celeste was in any rush to complete them now that the deadline was extended. The first commission was already done but she was having trouble coming up with ideas for the second. Perhaps some fresh air would do some good and help give her the inspiration to start the piece. With this in mind, Celeste had opted to go to the nearby cafe. The sun was so warm that she had opted for a table outside where she could bask in the warm rays. Honestly, she couldn't understand why people preferred being inside on such a beautiful day. The sky was blue, there were almost no clouds in the sky and no sign of rain for once. It was perfect weather for gathering inspiration for the piece she had in mind after all. After opting for a simple mocha, Celeste sat down at a table in the sun and started to draw. Under Celeste's careful hand, the scene began to come to life. The image was a simple one, that of two ballerinas dancing in a meadow but the figures were so life-like they almost seemed as if they would dance off the page. So intent was Celeste on forming the scene that was so clear in her mind that she paid her surroundings little mind. Celeste knew that she tended to get tunnel-vision when she was so intent on a drawing or a book and had often tried to fix the problem but to no avail. It was simply easier to avoid drawing or reading when Celeste knew she had to pay attention anyway. Thus, Celeste had no idea that someone had sat at her table until they spoke up, causing the blond to jump slightly before looking up at the supposed speaker. It took a few moments for Celeste to pull her mind from drawing the simple, elegant scene before her and back to the present. Even longer still to comprehend what the speaker had said and to realize that they were talking to her. "Oh! I'm sorry!"Celeste finally replied, rubbing her neck sheepishly, "I didn't even notice you there until just now..."she continued before shaking her head slightly at her own foolishness. "The seat's not taken so go right ahead,"Celeste chimed before revealing the simple scene she had been diligently working on moments before, "It's something I just started, thought I'd take advantage of the sun while it's out for once. I have a studio but it gets so stuffy sometimes and on a day like today I think I'd go insane, ya know?" she continued, smiling as she did so, "Oh! How rude of me, I'm Celestine, what's your name?"

Kiana noticed that the woman was concentrating on her art. She hardly as much as twitched when Kiana sat down at the table and put down her table number. Kiana wasn't too sure how anyone managed to put that much concentration on something that they weren't paying attention to their surroundings. She wasn't sure how anyone could feel safe doing that. Kiana was constantly keeping her senses alive, listening out for sounds that weren't right or being on guard for particular scents. It had saved her a good few times, both in human and wolf form. It also seemed like it could force her to meet new people, or at least that was what it had done now. She was only sitting with this woman because she had caught the faint scent of werewolves that lingered on the woman's skin and clothes. Really, Kiana just had no idea how she would be able to get so engrossed in something as the woman was. When Kiana spoke, the woman noticed her. She jumped a bit, seeming expectedly surprised. The side of Kiana's lips flicked up in an amused grin and she kept them shut to stop herself from laughing. As the woman spoke, Kiana got the impression that the woman was by no means annoyed by Kiana's sudden appearance, just surprised. She sounded kind and calm, and she obviously loved the art she was creating. Kiana's eyebrows raised slightly as the woman spoke of taking advantage of the sun. She let her gaze slide to the side, peeking into the window of the cafe and seeing how crowded it was where the sun's light hardly touched. It was nice to see someone else wanting to be out in the rare sun. As the woman stopped speaking, Kiana relaxed her amused grin into a warm smile. This woman was generally nice, it didn't seem like there was any negative reason as to why she smelt like werewolves. Kiana was curious and seeing how kind the woman was just made her more curious. It wasn't as if Kiana thought that it was odd for a human to be around werewolves but having that kind of scent lingering on her like that suggested more than just having a werewolf friend. And maybe Kiana just wanted an excuse to make a new friend and get away from the human feeling the new moon had given her. "Kiana," she answered. "You seem to be in the minority of people who actually like the sun. I don't get how no one wants to enjoy the sun, it isn't like we get to see it everyday here."Letting her eyes drift down to the drawing, Kiana could see that it wasn't finished but she could get an idea of what the drawing was. Art was one of those things she had gained in interest in, she had visited a few different art galleries, admiring the work and detail that seemed to be put into these works that were in a way useless. There had been people who had liked to draw and paint at her old pack but never in so much detail and such beautiful styles. Kiana smiled at the drawing. "Do you draw for a living?" She asked. A waitress walked over then, placing Kiana's mocha on the table. Words; 553 Tags; Celestine MattiasNotes; I wrote half of this post who know how long ago. Eck, so slow of a reply. Sorry!

Unlike Kiana, Celeste had never had to fear for her life. Though she might not know much about the secrets of the Mattias family other than what her husband had told her, she trusted them and knew that they would keep her safe. Even now she still was being watched to ensure that nobody dared try to harm her, what with the recent assassination attempt and all. Though why anyone would want to harm a sweet little girl like Gwen was beyond her. Besides, it was a nice day, how could she just stay inside even if it could be considered more dangerous in the long to go outside. Had she known that Kiana was wondering how she could focus so intently on one thing, Celeste would have been slightly embarrassed to say the least of things. It was a bad habit and one that Celeste knew was one of the reasons she really shouldn't be in a place where it wasn't safe for her to focus. It's why she had her own studio after all, so that she could work in safety without having to worry about what might happen. The café was a safe enough place though, and it was rather nice to be able to bask in the sun while drawing the commission. At the reply from Kiana, Celeste smiled and nodded, "Kiana, what a pretty name,"she commented before the other woman continued on, saying how she seemed to be in the minority of people enjoying the sun. Laughing softly, Celeste smiled and shrugged at the statement, "Well, we don't get much sun much this time of the year and I wanted to take advantage of it while I could. My studio just seemed so stuffy when I could be enjoying the sunlight, ya know?"she replied before explaining what the drawing was briefly. The question brought a grin to Celeste's features before the waitress brought over Kiana's order supposedly, the exact same one as her ironically. "Why, you must be psychic or something. Not only did you correctly guess what I do for a living, but it seems you have copied my favorite beverage.Celeste replied kindly, an amused smile playing at her lips.
