:: Mitchel Cyril Mattias :: Basics!: NICKNAMES:: Mitch- by Nadia; Father- by nearly all of his children; Daddy- by Gwen sometimes; Mr. Mattias- by everyone outside of the family no exceptions :: AGE: Chronologically: 400s somewhere. He has actually lost track over the years. Biologically: late 30s / early 40sish? He looks younger than his wife does. We'll leave it at that. Despite the fact that werewolves stop aging normally at twenty-one or so, Mitchel has not completely stopped aging per say but ages much more slowly than any human. Thus he looks a tenth of what he truly is give or take. :: BIRTHDAY: December 30 :: GENDER: Male :: SEXUALITY: Heterosexual- homophobic, Married- Nadia Mattias :: FACE CLAIM: Hugh Jackman :: MEMBER GROUP: Werewolf :: LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English, Italian, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, Personality! :: LIKES:- Family- first and foremost, Mitchel is a man who loves his family. He would do anything to protect them even to the extent of death if need be. This love extends not just to his immediate family but also the mafizo family that he has built for himself. Though he acts as their superior and head man in all things, and though he would not tolerate any form of disrespect from any of them, he does love them and would provide anything he could get ahold of to take care of those in this family.
- His work- Mitchel is a work-a-holic, and even if his family comes first, he needs to support them with work, as he sees it anyways. He loves the thrill that comes with making money- possibly because he was poor as a child and therefore tries to cling to as much of it as he can get his hands on, and thus he tends to get a bit overboard to say the very least of it all. Sometimes he finds himself going so far as to ignore his family in the process, but he does try desperately to balance the two on most days anyways.
- Order and planned things- Mitchel is a man of law and order. He wants control and wants people to play by the rules. However, he would prefer if he made the rules and made the plans rather than anything else. He seeks the type of control that comes when one has an iron fist rather than a tender hand. He has expectations of others and has plans for them. When they do not live up to his order and plans, he is often angry in one form or another.
- Those skilled in rhetoric and philosophy- Mitchel enjoys those who can hold themselves eloquently and therefore pushes his children to pursue such things at the top of their lists of things to do. He finds that a well spoken word is often sometimes better than what is being said even if this steps on the toes of Plato and Aristotle alike.
- Control and management- As was aid earlier, Mitchel is a man of order and law. He wants to make the rules and expects people to follow them. When they don’t, he doesn’t mind exercising his fist of control here and there. He finds that it keeps people in line for the most part and makes them easier to deal with on any given day. Thus he acts as a fierce man but a tame one.
- Honor and chivalry - Especially family honor which he tends to stress; Mitchel sees the family as first above everything, and therefore family honor is above all other types of honor. He would go to great lengths to preserve the family’s honor and appearance even at the cost of some of his family in the process.
- Respect from people even when not warranted- Mitchel’s general demeanor tends to demand respect, and thus he more or less expects it from people. However, this does not take away from the fact that when he receives such from outsiders, he is pleased.
- Diligence- Mitchel likes to work at things and finds Diligence to be a virtue unto itself.
- Being the provider and head of the household when he is home- This comes with great responsibility yet Mitchel is up to the challenge. He enjoys being head of the household and therefore able to strengthen his grasp on things without question or rebuke. In general, he just enjoys power as it is.
- Marksmanship in all of its forms (bows, guns, etc)
- The show Law and Order
- TMNT has become somewhat of a past time for him to say the least of it.
:: DISLIKES:- Unwarranted disruption of the status quo
- Any form of lack of order or control
- Vampires, he actually participated in a war against them in his 'youth'
- Werewolves outside of his family, he holds a good deal of hate for them especially the pack that abandoned him in his time of need
- Being disrespected
- Fighting in any form or fashion
- When servants don't get his desires right
- Being without work
:: HABITS:- Saying a person's full name especially when is angry.
- Missplacing his pens and pencils behind his ear
- Quoting old Roman texts
:: STRENGTHS:- Knowledgeable – Four hundred years of study has given Mitchel many tools at his disposal if nothing else. He is quite knowledgeable especially where history is concerned, and thus it gives him an advantage when speaking and making decisions for that matter. There is scarcely a subject he hasn’t heard of, and he is always up to learn something knew when he doesn’t understand.
- Economically power
- Physically kept
- Ordered and organized
- Lawful
- Respectful and civil
:: WEAKNESSES:- Intolerant of certain changes especially regarding family honor
- Perfectionist and one who demands perfection from others
- Spiteful and under the table temper
- Has a hard time balancing work life with family life
- Unsympathetic on some things
- Gwendolyn- his precious perfect little girl ~
:: OVERALL PERSONALITY: First impressions tend to alert people to the fact that Mitchel Mattias comes from an era that seems to already have passed. A deeply religious man with a romanticized view of the 'old days' and a consistent belief that some day they will return and be glorious, Mitchel holds himself and his family to a standard above what he considers to be a 'degrading society'. He lives for the liberal arts and enjoys the old fashioned things that come with them such as reading ancient texts, writing philosophy papers, and learning the intricate arts of music and other such refined things. His speech and mannerisms tend to reflect this as his interests are far from those one would expect of a businessman. He enjoys talking about liberating thought and has an unnatural love of Plato for one reason or another. Those that can hold their own in dialogs with him tend to be his favorite sort of people, and he's always up for inviting others to have a cup of tea and speak with him about what he namely calls 'interesting things'... that is when he has time.
In truth, despite his romantic ideals, Mitchel is still very much a man of business. He believes that it is proper and good for him to work hard and support his family even now that most of his children have grown up enough to support themselves. He sees himself as the head of the household and would do anything and everything to ensure that it be good and functioning well. Born during a time when he didn't have access to things that his children now do, he wants nothing more than to provide them with the best of everything. That includes education and the like. This, of course, requires hard work, and thus he works hard.
Though a passive man now a days, Mitchel enjoys his business. Though weapons could disrupt the status quo, there had always been something fascinating about hunting with them. One could argue that it was his way of dealing with his own wolf tendencies- especially when he grew angry and turned to range shooting to relieve stress. However, he assures most that it is strictly for sport that he does things. He will sometimes even go so far as to say that he believes 'humanity knows it is good and proper to use them correctly' as if this somehow excuses the fact that guns are abused in the world. The irony continues considering he isn't even one as it were- but of course only a few people would know that.
This being his family of course. Mitchel really is a family man and has always been. He loves his wife and all but worships the ground she walks on at times giving her more reign than she actually needs or wants. As for his children, they are special gifts from God, of course, and he wants nothing but the best for all of them! That being said, along with wanting nothing but the best for his children, Mitchel wants nothing but the best out of his children. He tends to romanticize their abilities and pushes them to what he believes to be the peak of their strength, skill, and endurance. That being said, of course he doesn't want to play the bad guy in this scenario, so he often gets 'helpers' in the form of teachers to help push his children along-- because of course what father would he be if he did such harsh things directly? No it was better on less than direct matters as he saw it.
In the company world, Mitchel is a man of business but also a man of rhetoric. He enjoys giving speeches and influencing others to do what he wants them to. It's all for the best or so he tells himself, anyways. He believes his best interest is the company's best interest and therefore enjoys acting as its sole head- its heart beat if you will. To keep people close, he is prone to rewarding them because everyone enjoys rewards now don't they? Of course, he is careful with his gifts to make sure that people don't get too comfortable with him. He still demands respect and demands that people do their jobs right and to the peak of their abilities.
On the subject of werewolves, Mitchel is not fond of his own species as he is of the humans he normally directs. Due to past events, he has grown somewhat paranoid of them and tends to avoid them in one form or another. Also aware of other supernatural creatures, he tends to influence them from the side when he can or hope that they will leave him alone. He enjoys working with humans first and foremost because they are so mailable and willing to do what he wants. In truth, to a certain extent, Mitchel looks down on humans, in a way. Sure he loves Nadia to death, and sure some of them are wonderful creatures. However, they will never match up to him as he sees it. Werewolves are just stronger beasts over all and more witty to boot, generally. He tries to downplay on this as much as possible, but it does tend to seep through from time to time.
History! :: MOTHER: Miranda
:: FATHER: Leopoldo
Mitchel is actually the first of his line to claim a last name thus the reasoning behind his parents not having last names. He actually chose the last name Mattias because he spent some time up in Germany and liked the variant of Mathew and therefore took it as his last name.
:: SIBLINGS: Lauretta ...?? Considering he hasn't seen his sister in more than three hundred years, and though he has tried to find out what happened to her or maybe even find one of her children, she seems to have literally just disappeared. Maybe she married and gained a last name or something.

:: HISTORY: Leopoldo and Miranda came together more or less on accident. Leopoldo was a poor young Italian werewolf who was scrounging around to make ends after having been abandoned by his pack for apparently drinking too much, and Miranda was the daughter of a wealthy businessman from England who tended to spoil his her to bits and let her roam free as a bird. The fact that Leopoldo and Miranda were both wolves wasn't the thing that drew them together, but it was a nice touch or so Miranda said as she found herself easily wooed by the 'adorable chap of a man' who she honestly only liked because he was next to trash and because her father didn't like him.
They had their few months of messing around while Miranda's father went out and worked with the Italian government apparently trying to negotiate some sort of collaborative effort between his company and their people that the Italians didn't care for. However, when Miranda found herself pregnant, she just about fell out and went crying to 'Papa' that she had been raped. Her father actually disowned her rather than hear her plea, and she suddenly found herself forsaken and pregnant one of the worst combinations for a woman to be in especially in a 'foreign country'. Thus she ended up clinging to Leopoldo who actually willingly took her up so long as she cooked and cleaned. He really wasn't much help with anything and tended to take more from Miranda than anything, but she craved security and thus got what she asked for, more or less.
Lauretta was the product of this and even as a baby, her father drunkenly abused her mostly for crying so much. Miranda begged Leopoldo to stop, but he often just took his abuse out on her instead. The only way Miranda found to calm him down again was intimacy which ended up producing Mitchel just a year later. It was after this that Miranda found herself seeking aid from the Catholic Church where she ended up signing up both her children into their rosters- and accidentally having her son's name 'Michael' be written "Mitchel" because, as she would quote later, "some no good priest didn't know how to write!"...not that Miranda herself knew how to write either and actually didn't know it was misspelled until another priest pointed it out. After that, she just went with 'Mitchel' so as not to confuse the entire service at times.
Honestly the Church disapproved of Miranda signing up Lauretta as women were banned from active service, but Miranda made a decent plea of sorts. The church finally responded by taking up Mitchel. They would raise him and teach him how to be a good and proper pastor, and then he could use the ‘trade’ to moderate his father whom Miranda begged they free her from. It wasn’t the best method the church had ever come up with, but they were trying, one could suppose. In this way, Mitchel was raised in the church learning everything there was to know about the ins and outs of it and being required to do various things even as an uncertain child. He grew up rapidly much as his sister was doing, but the church took little notice and accepted it more as ‘children grow quick’ rather than anything.
It was only when he was nine years old that Mitchel transformed for the first time. Though she knew that it would happen sooner or later, it having happened to Lauretta two years before, Miranda had no idea how to gauge her son’s transformation. She feared it would happen any moon night, and after the incidence that had nearly befallen them with Lauretta, Miranda was fearful that Mitchel would transform at a critical moment and scare everyone. Her worst fears were realized one night, but thankfully, Mitchel was protected. There was another werewolf in the church who recognized the transformation of the boy and was able to keep him hidden, a Father, in fact. Miranda had never been so grateful and consistently thanked the man over and over again.
The man, Romano, would simply take up Mitchel as his own direct pupil after that in order to keep a better eye on the boy who- after his transformation- was becoming a quick handful. Romano was actually a part time member of the pack that Leopoldo had been kicked out of, and as he had found out this information, he had decided to keep an eye on Mitchel to keep him from becoming like his father. “Your mother deserves better than your father” Mitchel had once caught Romano muttering. This had quite a big impact on Mitchel in the long run. He began to work as hard as he could in order to give his mother a better life. He studied, did everything right, and earned money within the church to feed his mother and his sister. Romano approved and did everything he could to help Miranda and her children. Though he would never admit it, Romano had found himself fostering feelings for Miranda long before he had decided to intervene in her son’s possible transformation rampage. However, time and time again, Leopoldo would take it away or drink up their happiness. It was heart breaking and frustrating, and sometimes Mitchel would just come home and cry. He couldn’t understand what was wrong with his father when he and his sister and mother worked so hard just to live. Why did that man think he could get away with all of it?
As he grew older, anger between himself and his father finally reached its peak, and Mitchel finally snapped. He would kill him. God would forgive him, but he would kill this man! Ironically on his eighteenth birthday, right after Christmas no less, Mitchel madly butchered his father in the streets of Venice. It had been cold and at night, and he had offered to take his father home after a particularly boring drinking night. The drunk werewolf didn’t even have a chance. Mitchel had a silver tipped weapon- one that he had gotten from a friend and only after Romano had explained that werewolves themselves were weak against it. He slaughtered the man even as he begged for his life, and it was only when the deed was done that Mitchel realized just what he had done. He ran home all too quickly and broke down right as he did so. He told his mother and sister what he had done, and they both panicked. That very night, they fled their home down up towards the German states in the north. Mitchel would never see Romano again after that.
They would actually run into a group of werewolves on what would later be the German-Italian boarder, and after some talks, the group accepted Mitchel, Miranda, and Lauretta as part of their pack. A few years would pass with a surprisingly peaceful outcome. Despite the fact that he was dealing with the PTSD of killing his father, Mitchel somehow managed to deal with it surprisingly well. He supposed it was the fact that the man was worthless that really made all the difference when it came down to it. Lauretta never spoke of the event and did her best to block out what had happened from her mind entirely. Miranda was the only one that seemed to not have a complete reaction to what had happened. She seemed to go on as if nothing had happened, as if the man she had shared her life with had never existed. She started dating one of the members of the pack much to Mitchel’s immediate distress, but every time he tried to stop her in some form or another, she held the ‘I am your mother’ sign over his head, and he gave in. When she realized that her father was being replaced by this new man, Lauretta didn’t give in so easily. She clashed with Miranda more often than not and was prone to breaking down very hard at times. Mitchel tried to comfort both his mother and his sister, but usually one only continued to upset the other, and it was an upward battle he could never win.
One day, Mitchel woke up, and Lauretta was gone. He spent hours upon hours looking for her and asked everyone in the pack if they had seen her. However, none could say they had. Considering he had been rather close, and he would have thought she would have told him that she was leaving. However, she was simply gone. When he asked his mother what had happened, Miranda just ignored him. He was always pretty sure she knew what had happened, but whenever he asked, she just ignored him ever still. Finally despite himself, Mitchel gave up asking. He just hoped that his sister had the best somehow. That was the best he could do.....
Years went by, and Mitchel was decent within the pack. He didn't rise up to alpha status, or anything, but he was a decent member of the group. However, a vague controversy would break out followed by scandal, and after that, Mitchel left the group to go off on his own. Apparently his mother had been severely beaten and she and her lover blamed him despite the fact that he hadn't done anything. He fought against it for a while, but soon he decided to just deal with exile. He went farther north into Germany, learned its language and spent time with its people. He enjoyed the humans there for the most part if only because they were a strange combination of naive and hardworking that allowed him to manipulate them with relative ease. As time went on, he would make a decent business for himself as an inventor who helped spur on the growth within that particular princely area. However, a quick plague that rushed through his area killed off most of the people he had come to like, and he was forced to move on.
He would eventually travel up the Denmark peninsula and find another group of werewolves who would take him up as a refuge when he gave them the sob story of the destruction of his land. He proved to be an intellectual and often helped the medic that they had there when there was some sort of damage. It was there that he would meet a young woman named Lucia. She was a fiery character who dreamed of being alpha of her pack despite the fact that she was just the medic's assistant and relatively young at that. She was a hard worker but very brash and blunt for her age pushing forth women's rights at a time, and it was this nature that caused Mitchel's interest in the woman to grow. She seemed so much better than the rest of her pack that was willing to do old things just for tradition, and when he decided that it was time to move on, he offered a traveling pass to Lucia as well. Though she hesitated at first, when he promised to help her build her own pack, she left with him.
There was never any intimacy in their relationship, and it was strictly business always. They traveled south west and ended up in France wherein they would make some alliances with the werewolves in the area. It was there that they would meet Guido who Lucia would eventually wrangle into their slowly growing group. Apparently the werewolf had interested her, and Mitchel trusted her enough to follow through with this that he left it alone. They moved throughout Europe after that gathering other people together here and there- all of them werewolves or half werewolves. Lucia who would act as a second in command and sometimes full commander when Mitchel was busy on more personal matters, pushed forwards but it was always Mitchel's final call on everything. She respected him that much, and he had made her dream come true in one form or another.
The entire group would move back into Italy after that invading the pack that had resided on the German-Italian boarder and slaughtering it when they resisted the pack's dominance. Mitchel was actually the man that would end up telling one of his subordinates to kill his mother. It was a rude vicious act, yet none debated it with Mitchel. His words were law. As they finally fell on Rome, they would make their main base there and act as a political party known for its temperament. When they didn't get what they wanted, it was almost always violence. Those were the years that the idea of domination would rule Mitchel. He was careful to hide his name and did well in keeping a secret just what he was. However, he controlled from the shadows with an iron fist.
Years would pass, and as history played out, Mitchel played in the background affecting Italy in one form or another. He learned to wield control and strength and made a fortune in one form or another. Eventually, he took up the last name of Mattias mostly because it caught his fancy, and he was known as Mitchel Mattias from then on out. As humans began to expand and grow especially in technology, Mitchel was always right up front. His group was the first to get a hold of guns in Italy among other things. He played on other groups in the area and did what he would to ensure his shielded dominance. Even as the world began to change, he melded with it in one form or another.
Eventually, he began to move outwards towards England where the Industrial Revolution seemed to be reaching its height. It was there that he would behind the scenes start up various factories and the like making a hidden fortune in the process. As time went on, he decided to start setting up his own guns and weapons company as he grew more and more confident that no one would stop him. The people under him were more than willing to help and use the cover as necessary. During this time, he simply focused on work.
Years and years passed, and he traveled here and there even to America when he found it interesting. He watched the various civil wars and revolutions around the world, and he would choose to help when he felt that there could be some sort of gain or profit. He was notorious for selling weapons off cheap to those that he liked and watch them destroy others. He even helped fund the American Civil war paying quite a bit for the North who he found more profitable in the end. As the world wars broke out here and there, he originally sided with Italy and Germany, but after finding that Hitler was trying to more or less dissban his famiglia in the process, Mitchel retaliated by helping England. The cold war was a time of austere peace for Mitchel. He focused more on work in this time and left the tension problems to the Americans and the Soviets.
It was years later and on happenstance that Mitchel would meet Nadia in Italy. She was an art student in Rome, and they had met haphazardly in the Sistine Chapel. There was something about her absolute innocence that surprised him, and on a whim, he invited her to dinner. It was the first time that Mitchel could ever say that he had ever felt such love for the woman. She was weak, a human, and more ditzy than he would have liked from anyone else. However, she was also extremely optimistic and easy going- something that he didn't find in his work. Despite his better judgment to leave her alone, he started to date her.
Dating turned into romance turned into love. They waited a long time but eventually got married and had three boys. Mitchel had never expected himself to be a father but he enjoyed it surprisingly. Years passed, and he did his best to be a good father: providing everything and demanding "little" or so he believed. He truly emotionally scared his first born among other things, and though he was aware of this to a certain extent, he thought it would be better in the end. However, a moment of weakness between himself and an associate would lead to Gwedolyn's existence. He was quick to try and repent, but he doubted that Nadia would ever truly forgive him for it. However, he did what he could by spoiling his girls more than usual and doing a variety of things to try and keep peace in the family. - Mitchel has direct links to various mafia families, but mostly for security purposes, he has refused to name his particular group after his own last name Mattias which would arguably make it a fully fledged mafia group. Occasionally, subordinates- especially those of higher than average rank- will refer to themselves as Mattias in either an affectionate tribute or when showing extreme loyalty. However, it is often scrutinized if those of lower rank call themselves such.
- A list of recognized subordinates follows for organization's sake:
High ranking officers: Lucia, Gudio,.... Middle rank: Low rank: Alejandro - List item 3
