It was still overcast and cold on their second day in their new home. The English weather patterns were something to get used to. She hadn't seen the sun since leaving the united states 4 days ago. Sara laid in her bed with her eyes closed. She didn't need sleep being a vampire and all. She just liked keeping with the routine of nights and mornings. It made keeping a low profile easier, and kept her brother from using her being up all night as an excuse to stay up too. He would be starting school in his new school in a few days, and she didn't want him getting any bad habits. She listened to the noises of the house settling. The furnace and water heater cycling on and off. Her brother's rhythmic breathing as he slept in the room down the hall from hers. Even the conversations of the neighbors, when she chose to pay attention to their endless ramblings. Their accents and different words for things were a bit confusing.
Her enhanced sense of smell was something she could never get used to. It was near impossible to block out scents. Even now, in her house she had to deal with all the combined smells of her living space. The fumes from the new carpeting. The laundry, the various items in the trash from what they've eaten the last few days. And worst of all, all the cologne, deodorant, and other toiletries in the bathroom. She didn't own any perfumes for herself. Putting any on would dampen her senses and leave her vulnerable. That and the torture of the scent so strong that dizziness or even nausea was a very real possibility. She listened to the occasional car come down her street. The problem was she could hear the traffic from several blocks away. It was almost constant because of the range of her hearing. She'd learned to tune it out, but once the car was within a block, it was impossible.
Sara bolted upright so fast that if anyone was looking, they would have jumped out of their skin. A car had slowed in front of their house and turned into their driveway. The only friend she's made was Ator, and she didn't give him her address. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and slipped on her slippers. She grabbed a robe, the pink one she favored that was knee length, and put it on. It would do no good at all to answer the door or get into a fight in her panties. The bra would have to wait. There was no time. The door to the vehicle opened. A single occupant stepped out, and the door slammed shut. She looked out her bedroom window to see a man in a suit with a briefcase in hand. He was older. Probably in his 50's. His head tilted up to look at the upstairs window, but Sara had ducked out of sight well before his eyes focused. She made it to the front door on the 1st level of the house before the man outside took a his first step in that direction. Sara looked out the peep hole in the door. The car had no license plate on the front. She couldn't recall if they required front and rear license plates in England. Sara tried to rationalize who the man might be and why anyone would come to their home when she hadn't even had the chance to register at the post office yet. She didn't know anyone.
The man walked up the path from the driveway onto the front stoop of their home. He reached up to knock, but the door opened before his fist made contact. Sara looked him over. He looked surprised, as he should be. He had salt and pepper brown hair. His suit and tie well kepts, but not like the perfect press of high level corporate or government official. The style and material wouldn't be something a mafioso would choose either. Before any of this, she noticed the name tag. “Winslow Brewster” was the name there. “King's Highway Auto Group” was the business name. The man paused he looked down at the woman. He looked her up and down his eyes pausing at her cleavage visible due to the low cut of her robe. His eyes shot up to her face with color rushing to his cheeks. “May I help you?” She asked. She was too used to the male reaction of a vampire's perfect features to feel violated or irritated. She used to do what most women did in that situation and give the guy the evil eye while adjusting her clothing to cover up more. 10 years of experiences made it a non-issue.
“Uh, yes. I.. I'm here from the dealership, miss. May I come in so we can finalize the paperwork?”
Sara gave him her best “clueless” expression. She would have tensed for a possible attack, but her nose told her he was just a plain human with a chronic ailment of some sort. She couldn't smell any metal on him other than his wrist watch, name tag, and hardware on his briefcase. No gun powder residue. Nothing threatening. His pulse was elevated, but that was just his embarrassment at staring at her chest. No adrenalin. She smiled at the man.
“I'm sorry. I Think you have the wrong house. I haven't been to a dealership for a car.” She replied, slowly closing the door. She man pushed his briefcase forward to keep the door from closing
“Now wait a bloody minute. There's not a heck of allot of Japanese shielas about.
The door opened again rather suddenly. Sarah's brows narrowed at his bluntness. Her smile was gone. She glared at the man with an aura that said “You're a breath away from death” cascaded off her and hit the man. Her hunter side came forward allot more forcefully than she wanted. She reached out so quickly, the man never saw her arm move. She grabbed the front of his shirt, balling it up in her fist. He never would never know how close he'd come to death. Or did he? Because the man paled, his breath catching as he unconsciously took a step back. He broke out into a sweat, tensing up and fumbled to locate something in his pockets. “Hold on, miss... Didn't mean t'scare ya. Old vacuum cleaner salesman technique. Didn't mean no harm.”He stammered as he reached in his pocket for something. Sara paused at this. He was genuinely unnerved. The invoice he pulled out and unfolded with shaking hands made her back down. She raised an eyebrow, calming. “ “Uh, Er.. this should clear things up a bit.” He chuckled nervously and cleared his throat “ Is this the Miafugi residence?” “Yes” “Saraitha Mei Miafugi?” “Yes” He let out a breath. His shoulders relaxing a bit, looking visibly relieved. He scanned the document quickly “Ah, here we are. The vehicle was leased in your name. The purchaser was a Mr. Tomoe Yukki Miafuji from the unites states. Any O'this ring a bell?” Sarah rolled her eyes before she could help herself. “Daddy! Really? You couldn't wait 'till I asked for help? Not that I needed it. It was on my to-do list!” She thought to herself. “Thats my father” She said. Gentle facial features returning and a mile tugging at her lips. The salesman, looking further relived, smiled as well. “Then, may I?.....” Sara opened the door and let him in.
“Sweeet!. I cant believe dad bought us a Mini Cooper S.” Yukki gushed. The salesman had gone and Sara's brother has besides himself with joy at the surprise in the driveway when he awoke. Sara Sighed. “It's just a lease. Its not really ours.” “Quit being, a stick in the mud, Oneechan. Next year I get to drive! Its 16 for a learners permit here in the UK. Lets take her out for a spin. I call shotgun!” He said, rushing out to the shinny new car. It was red and white two tone with a charcoal gray interior. Sara smiled. Yeah, she wanted to get along without the help of her parents, but with so much to do, the fact that they had a car sooner than she planed on was a definite plus. Her brother was happy. How could she not be also. “Alright. Let me go change” She said, still in her robe. She should have had the salesman wait in the living room while she made herself presentable, but she wasn't comfortable leaving a stranger alone in her house while she went upstairs. Besides, she was sure the salesman didn't mind. He even added free oil changes and car washes for the duration of the lease. The color never left his cheeks, even though she was sure she kept her legs together and her robe tightly closed. Once upstairs she looked in the full length mirror in her room and noticed something she overlooked before. Her robe was rather thin and her curvature was very pronounced. If she could have blushed, she would have. She shook her head. She needs to be more careful with these details. Yukki should have said something, but he “was” a teenage boy, after all. He may have warned her if he'd come down while the salesman was sill in the house.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIR Yukki shifted and turned in his bed. It was only his second night at their new home. Saraitha had assured him that he would get used to the new house eventually. She seemed kind of uptight about living there. Jumping here and there at the new smells and sounds. Man, it would suck to be Vampire... having to hear and smell everything.. ew He thought to himself scrunching up his nose.
He looked up at the white ceiling, trying to call sleep to him. The walls were too bare, the room was too empty. He hadn't unpacked much at all. He was still missing his dresser and half his clothes. His box of comics were nowhere to be found. "Damn Herupā, Subete no watashi no hako o ushinau!!!" (Damn helpers, losing all my boxes) He said aloud, frowning.
He rolled over to his side, pushing and punching at his array of pillows. He felt his covers pulling at his shirt. Sighing, he pulled it off and threw it across the room. That's better. he thought to himself sighing as the silky side of his bed spread caressed his skin gently. Within minutes, he drifted into a deep sleep.
It was dark and he couldn't feel his toes or nose. He had been running for what seemed like miles. He could still feel the sting and crushing feeling where the man had grabbed him. He looked around, breathing heavily as he tried to find what he was looking for. Jikkō (run) his instincts hissed at him. Closing his eyes, Yukki moved his frozen feet forward.
Tree branches slapped him in the face, almost tauntingly. He could hear the snarls of the over-sized wolf behind him. Yukki swore over and over between his quick gasps of air as he tried to run faster, his feet getting twigs and rocks poking into them. He could feel the shots of pain shooting up his leg as his frozen feet were slowly being torn apart. Oneechan! he thought, too breathless to scream out. He felt the breath of the wolf on the back of his neck.
Yukki ducked behind a tree quickly, the wolf bolting past him, before he could notice his prey had leaped away from him. Yukki spun around the tree and sprinted back toward the town as fast as he could. The wolf was far behind him now. He was ahead!
He finally made it back home, slamming the door behind him. His fingers were completely numb, along with his face. Yukki found his sister sitting calmly in the living room, her legs crossed as she read a book. He walked over to her, still breathing heavily. She looked startled and leaped up to her brother. He towered over her, the pain seeming to instantly fade. He felt desire rule over his body. He walked forward, Sara placing her hands on his chest looking up toward him.
Yukki continued walking until he and his sister were near a wall, pressing her against it, he leaned down, closed his eyes and braced himself for the sweet taste of her lips...
Yukki punched his bed when he woke, suddenly. "Damnit! he shouted. He raced through his thoughts, trying to replay his too-real dream. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes, his heart still racing. You know that would never happen, dummy he assured himself.
He could hear Saraitha talking to someone downstairs. He leaped up from his bed, only wearing his boxers, he walked to the window. An older man walked out to his car, got in, and left. There was another car left in the driveway. A red and white mini coop. yessss!! he thought to himself, doing a quick fist pump. He turned on his heel and bolted downstairs.
“Sweeet!. I cant believe dad bought us a Mini Cooper S.” Yukki exclaimed as his sister explained to him what the car was for and where it came from. His excitement could hardly be contained. He bounced on the balls of his feet a few times, trying not to get too excited. He shook his head as Sara explained it wasn't really theirs. "We get to drive it, right? Then it's ours!!" He almost shouted too loudly.
He knew he would be able to drive next year. His sister agreed to take the car out for a spin, bolting upstairs, Yukki grabbed his shirt he had taken off earlier and some jeans. He was about to run out the door again, when he tripped over his backpack, landing face first into the floor.
Groaning, Yukki pulled himself back up to his feet, his nose bleeding a little. aww, man he moaned at himself, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. He grabbed his shoes and pulled them on before slipping into a jacket. His nose was still bleeding, so he exited his room and grabbed some toiletpaper from the bathroom, jamming a few pieces up his nose to stop the bleeding. Running downstairs he shouted out into the house, "Ready!!"

Sara changed out of her robe, dressed, and walked into the bathroom. She quickly brushed her teeth and even used the blow drier on the “cool” setting to blow air through her fine hair, which fell into place naturally. She was about to walk out of the bathroom and happened to glance at herself in the full length mirror. She stopped, frowning slightly. >>There. It happened again!<< She complained to herself. She was back in those jeans with the pink butterflies on the back pockets. She had a half dozen pair at least and kept grabbing those. Pink and butterflies wasn't even her thing. She had a button down shirt, which was a nice shade of blue, but peaking bellow was the pink lace on her otherwise white bra. Somehow she never noticed picking those. She though about changing but heard Yukki yell he was ready from downstairs.
Sara made her way quickly down stairs and out the door. She rushed to the car, catching some of her brothers excitement about the new car, and jumping in the drivers seat. Sara inhaled deeply wanting to take in the “new car” smell. There was a deliciously sweet smell intertwined with the vinyl of the new interior. The beast within surged up with a vengeance. Sara was completely blindsided and unprepared for this and lost her donimance over herself. Her head turned to look at her brother. Her eyes widening at the bloody tissue in his nostrils. Her pupils expanded and the burning blood-lust took hold. The monster was focused on the blood it tensed muscles at attacked. Sara saw beyond the vision of blood. She saw her brother there beside her, looked into his eyes. >>NO!!!!!!!!!!!< < she screamed. She took hold of the monster and they grappled for control. She wrestled the beast back down into her subconscious and slammed the door shut once more. She stared at her brother who was oblivious at how close he'd come to death. She was happy to see him still in one piece, rushing forward to embrace him in a hug.
All Yukki would be aware of was her gasping. Her head turning toward him. The smile fading to a frown as her eyes widened and pupils dilated. He would see her arms clamp onto the steering wheel as the unseen battle raged. Then Sara blinked. A smile replacing the frown.
“Baka Tare San!”(You're an Idiot!) she said hugging him tighter. “Baka! Baka!”. She repeated in Japanese. “How many times have I told you to warn me when you bleed!!...I could have.....” She hugged him tighter.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIR Yukki ran out to the car, pulling open the door and jumping in it. He ran his hands over the glossy dashboard, grinning like a fool. He waited for Saraitha to lock the front door. He looked up to watch her walk graciously from the house to the car, her hips swaying and her hair being tossed in the wind. It was like a scene from a movie.
Yukki grinned to Sara as she got in the car. Once she got in he looked down at his phone, checking the time. It was only 8:30 in the morning. It felt and looked so much later. Before he knew what was going on, Sara had him in a choking hug. "I'm not an idiot..." He said, frowning. He remembered his nose and the tissue jammed up his nastrils.
He frowned as he remembered and covered his nose with his arm, wiping it with the back of his hand. "I'm sorry... Oneechan... I forgot.. I was so excited.. Maybe we should wait till later for our trip." He pulled the handle to the door and it opened. Sticking his foot outside the door ready to get out.
He looked over the interior of the car again, the gloss reflecting his eyes. He took a deep breath, taking in the new car smell. He looked over at Sara again, reading her emotions. "I'm sorry." he said under his breath. He looked down at his hand as he took hers in it. He gave it a squeeze and smiled at her a little, apologetically.

Sara sighed as she watched her brother look over the cars interior longingly. She accepted his hand and gave a squeeze of her own. "I'm ok now, Yukki." She said hitting the all-window auto switch. All the windows rolled down at once. "If you don't mind the breeze, tell me where you want to go." She insisted with a smile.
Sara hated to see him upset or sad. All she wanted was to spend as much time as possible with him before he grew up and left to live his own life. She almost frowned at the thought of eventually loosing him to old age while she, herself, would never get any older. The thought had crossed her mind once or twice over the years of turning him. He'd bring up the tender subject from time to time. Sara's ace in the hole was the fact that he was still too young. She argued that he'd have to be her age to be able to spend more than a year or two in any one place.
Everyone she knew would die eventually while she would live on, forever 23. This scared the living crap out of her.
Sara didn't let her worries and feelings show. She kept the smile going. For her brother, it always reached her eyes.
"Breakfast maybe?. I'm not sure if they have an IHOP here"
