Putting dragons together in a tribe when they really don't like each other at all is like sticking two bears together >_>I disapprove. Not sure if Margie and Soji have to disapprove with me though, so yeah.

Well, the idea is that theyd be raised there so theyd have more tolerance than normal dragons because they grew up depending on eachother. But ya, thanks for your input

Honestly, I see dragons as more solitary creatures rather than forged in large groups and or tribes/packs/ect. I see them more as bears who even vie against their kind for resources in contrast to wolves that work together to obtain food. Small families/relations/friendships here and there I can understand, but anything on such a large scale seems unreasonable.
It is stated in the dragon guide that they will usually vie for power in even the smallest of instances. This can be interpreted from the idea that they will kill off the leader of a werewolf pack and take control of it. This instinct to take power that seems more part of their genome rather than a learned trait shows that putting too many of them together is just asking for a constant power struggle and too much fighting.
Werewolves/wolves have a general order of things as seen in the general terminology of alpha, beta, omega, ect. But such order doesn't work with those that constantly harbor the idea that they could be the leader if they really wanted to. It'd be a constant flop of power, and innocent would be killed, and evolutionary format would probably show that the tribe would annihilate itself due to the constant vie for power.
And because dragons are also intellectual creatures much in the level of humans if not above it, they would probably have learned that this instinct for power only hampers their species when they are together and therefore chose to not interact in such a large community and remain solitary or in small numbers/families.
Anyways, just put my input on this becuase I could. It's Margie's call in the end of it.

It doesn't matter if they grow up together, it is in their genetics to be the most powerful among company. I agree completely with Soji, it would just diminish the already well hidden and low population of the mystical species. They would only be in pair when they are mates, but even then it will have a bunch of tension, and they are usually only together for offspring.
Dragon childern even tend to fight with each other to be the dominant. And even after the dominance is settled, it will always be up in the air. That's why the dragons won't have more then one baby at a time, because they don't want one to die. They have children to further their species, not to kill more off.

Well, I kind of agree with both sides of the story (: I mean, dragons are wise creatures, yeah? So the saying 'keep your friends close, and your enemies closer' kind of counts here, in a way. I mean, you shouldn't stick them all together, but at the same time, I see them in clans as well. I dunno. I mean, you should be able to find a middle ground. I think its a good idea to have small clans. Like, two/three dragon families, and it also says that dragons will usually try to at least have one off spring, so I think the families would be small anyway (:
Not to cause any trouble, I just thought I'd bring that up xD
Also, it has been shown 'power hungry' isnt the only kind of dragon there is (:

The most dragons will travel with will be with their mate and a child. ._. doesn't matter that it's a small family, its because the males will be in a constant power struggle to be on top, and it will end up with more death then necessary if they had only stayed apart. It's in their instincts and genetics to fight with other dragons that aren't their mate or child.

I understand that, but Im sure there would be the odd one here and there, which is exactly what Im saying you should be doing and taking into consideration. Think about the 'posession' dragons. The more people, the more posessions. Im not saying that they'll all think of it like that. They'll also see it as 'more people to protect my posessions from' or 'more people to steal from', but there of course will be the odd dragon or so.
And also, mostly dragons think of themselves on top, and then werewolves, so wouldn't they take that lesson from the werewolves who stay together in a pack? Also: It says they MAY fight with other dragons. They might now. And also, alot of species think of 'it takes a whole pack to raise a child', so I see dragons to be that way. Also they are very 'open' beings. If they didnt have a pack, who could they be 'open' with?
By the way: This is just my interpretation (: I do not want to start a fight, just merely put my opinion out there (:

Esme, next time please don't delete the first post because now I don't know what it said.
I cannot see dragons being in more than groups of threes and that is only a family with a mother, father and child. Even in that there would be tension. Dragons are very independant creatures and they wouldn't be able to make large groups like werewolves and vampires do. They are kind of a more power wanting version of humans if you think about it, and larger families usually have more fighting than smaller ones. Power wanting creatures just don't work well together and like Soji said, they would just kill each other for power.
Don't even know if that made sense, my brain is dead from too much cleaning. Sorry Esme and Teesh, no dragon tribes.
