Luz shot a glare at the newspaper she'd brought along with her; it was written in Russian, a language she couldn't understand at all. The small girl could read and speak Spanish and English, but Russian? Not a chance. She did enjoy reading russian novels and she liked the fact that her father had brought the family on vacation there; but the language just...
A slow sigh escaped her; she stretched lazily and fixed her gaze on the sky. So bright, so blue, so...large. It was impossible not to stare at it. The small girl had always had a desire for knowing the world, seeing what was beyond...it was a small part of her wish what had come true; she'd seen Russia. But it wasn't enough; Luz wanted to see everything. That was one of the reasons for which she'd always been so curious; the rest of her reasons had yet to be defined...
"The world is so small..."she commented aloud; even though she was on her own at the moment. Bright blue eyes remained set on the sky, staring at it almost blankly. And indeed; the world was small. She often felt trapped and imprisoned at home, and she'd torn herself away from society. It was like having her own world, and being kept from exploring what was beyond it. A frustrating feel, and something she couldn't avoid.

Xing Li was on the move. The short thin woman who believed herself to be more of a solider than a human was on the hunt, and all her senses were alive because of it. She had heard that there were beasts in the area, and it had taken very little to entice her to get up and go take them down. Xing carried no visible weapons but several remained on her form. Her snort dark hair dyed almost red appeared more black than red today, and her pale features seemed to make her more of a walking specter than anything else.
As she walked, the dark haired woman caught sight of something not far off. Her entire form tensed. She wasn't sure of what it was, but she intended to get closer. With that, she started towards Luz as a hunter would stalk a prey. However, as she came closer, the female huntress stopped at the sight of the other girl. Damn it.

A few clouds passed by, Luz stared at them like she'd never seen something like that before. It was almost different, gazing at the sky here. Her home was too cloudy and cold lately, it gave a nearly gloomy feeling to everything not no mention the fact that she had enough trouble at home already. She'd been so tense that she'd almost rebelled against everything. Maybe she was taking everything--her mother's disease, school, studying, far too seriously.
Luz could notice someone staring at her, but she pretended not to have noticed. Instead she rolled over and tried to read the newspaper again. Nothing. It was almost as trying to read Martian. She stared at the newspaper for a long, time, every now and then turning a page and staring at it before turning it again like she really knew what she was reading, until she got tired of feeling a gaze on her. She put the newspaper down and took a look at Xing Li.
"Uh....si?"she asked, with a somewhat irritated tone. She had never been fond of being stared at; it only made her feel even more tense. "Can I help you?"

Xing stared for a moment not saying anything. She had only caught half of the lip movements, and could only interpret from context what had been stated. Being deaf was not on her list of things she liked about herself. "Sorry," she finally stated as though it were some mysterious answer to life the universe and everything. She never knew what her voice sounded like, and to those that heard it, it had an odd rink to it mostly because she had been trained to speak in that way without being able to hear it for herself. "Am I bothering you?" Xing finished.

Luz sighed a bit at the response. The young woman before her had a strange ring to her voice, but she didn't really care. Heck, Luz had a pretty noticeable accent that everyone else often pointed out, so she wasn't one to judge other people. "No, not really.... I just thought there was no one around,"she answered tugging at a lock of her hair. "Anyway....what are you doing around here?"she asked, with another small, and kind of bored, sigh.

The lip motions to the question were obvious, yet Xing was not sure how to answer the question right then and there... "I was looking for something," she finally settled on that and wondered if the girl would let her keep that as a full response. Yes... she was looking for something... What that something was, she was not even sure of herself. Either a vampire or a werewolf. Either or at that point. She had come and was not hoping to lose it now.

Looking for something, the child thought. It made her curious but she decided...nah, she wouldn't ask. Maybe it was a personal thing after all. One shouldn't mess with other people's personal business; that was what she'd been taught. It had taken her years to fully grasp said rule, but she did in the end and she wasn't going to forget it now. Well, good luck with that. There seems to be nothing around here,"Luz answered with a tiny smile.
And indeed, there was nothing too special around there. The child was almost despaired by the fact that even after coming to Russia, she still wasn't satisfied; and still wanted to break away from everything. It was a rather empty feeling. Almost as though something was missing in her life. "Damn it,"she hissed inadvertedly.

Xing had been about to move on when her side glance caught the movement of the formation of the word 'damn it'. She stopped moving again and raised her eyebrow. "What?" she asked now rather sharply looking straight at the girl in order to make sure she had not mistakenly read the lips motion.

Luz held her gaze back up, smacking herself mentally. "No, nothing important..."she answered; giving her hair a slight tug. Damn, she really needed to keep her mental monologues in her mind. Otherwise, then why on Earth were they called mental monologues? Then again she couldn't help it. It had become a habit she couldn't kick out anymore. "...Just thinking..."she added without enthusiasm.

The huntress stared for a good few seconds all but mentally screaming at herself for not being able to read better. No. She wouldn't deal with this now. Instead, she simply nodded slowly. However, as she did so, Xing's eye caught sight of movement not far off... And that was it. In half a second, the young woman was charging again towards the wolf she had seen.

Luz gave an overdramatic sigh and rolled over to stare at the clouds again. "People...can be really strange sometimes..."she mumbled to herself boredly.
All of a sudden she thought she caught sight of something moving behind a few bushes. It somewhat intrigued her and her first reaction was to get up and check out the bushes. "Who's there?"she called out, and then, suddenly, something slashed at her and she jumped back, collapsing in the process.
"WHAT THE...?!"

Xing was moving sharply towards the form until something else caught her eye. Fast sporadic movement from where she had just been. Her head shot straight sideways, and in a half second, the huntress caught sight of the werewolf. In half a second, twenty throwing stars were shooting towards the wolf and penetrated it. So it had gone in a figure eight and double-backed on itself. Smart beast, damn it.
